Ko'Olina Lagoons

This video was taken way back in October, 2011.  We were experimenting with our underwater camera at the Ko'Olina Lagoons.  Love our Saturday family time.

14 months old

It's weird to think that someone who has only lived 14 months can already have so much personality and be a little person.  Someone that we love and adore so much and couldn't see our lives without.

Miss Betsy turned 14 months old today.  She has been the sweetest little addition to our family.  Her mom, dad, and older brother can't get enough of her.

Things she loves:
Her two naps a day in her crib.
Snuggling with mom.
Climbing into dad's lap and resting her head on his chest.
Strawberries, blueberries, carrots, and pasta.
Spitting noises with her brother.
Dancing to music.
Climbing up and down stairs.
Being outside.
Swimming in the ocean.
Getting dressed up and putting shoes on.
Bath time with brother.
Brushing her own teeth.
Pretending to text on mom's phone.
Kissing her dad on the lips.

Things she hates:
Falling asleep in a dark room.  She needs some sort of light.
When mom tries to get her to nap away from her crib.
When her brother head butts her.
Bananas, avocado, and cow's milk.
When mom takes her phone away from her. (she gets so angry!)
When brother runs her hand over while riding his firetruck.
When we close the bathroom door.  Such a mysterious place, she's dying to explore it!

Happy 14 months Bessy Boo.

Friday Night Fireworks

Getting set up next to the harbor on a tiny little beach.
Waiting patiently and excited about the show!
Grubbing on some Panda Express take-out.
We are so close to the action.  Poor Tristan has some pretty sensitive ears.
Post show, we had some homemade cupcakes and watched a paper lantern launch.  I'm not sure what was going on but those things are so fun to watch!  Picture below was taken from the web, but these are the lanterns I'm talking about.  Minus the heavy jackets and it was about half as many lanterns.  They just floated away to sea.  Fun to watch.

We're hoping to enjoy more firework shows this summer.  It's one of our favorite things to do here.

Tristan's Pallet Bed

You can pretty much make anything out of shipping pallets and we've been wanting to try something for a long time.  Tristan needed a bed so Betsy could finally get her crib, so Christian jumped into his first pallet project.  Super cheap (free actually), simple to make and keeps the material from being thrown into a landfill somewhere.  I love the raw look of the wood, and it's very durable, built for shipping around the world!  Anyways, we're looking forward to more pallet projects when we have more space; planters? tables? playhouse?

What they've been up to

Summer is here!  Not that it means anything to us.  Weather is pretty much the same and neither of the kids are in school.  We've been playing a lot outside and staying busy.  Unfortunately, I hardly take our camera out with us, so the pictures below are what the kiddos have been up to while at home.  :)

Our indoor photos are usually pretty bad quality.  Sorry.
Tristan has mastered flying at a further distance.  It's actually a little freaky how far he can go.  No broken bones yet.

Thank you Pinterest, lots of fun activities to try out.  This one is a no-mess finger painting project in a zip lock baggie.

Through the eyes of a 3 year old, an aspiring photographer.
Another one of Tristan's masterpieces.
Betsy gets use out of her winter hat, since her head might be too big for it come winter.  And we live in Hawaii.
Busted.

 Hanging out in his undies.
He never breaks character when in costume.

I love these kids!

California Trip

The kids and I took a trip to California in May.  It was nice to get off of the island for a little bit and to see family and some friends.  We enjoyed lots of swimming in the pool with cousins, Papa and Nama, Memorial Day BBQ, 2 back to back baby showers at my mom's house, a visit down south with Tatum, Whitney and little ones, and dinner with Clawson cousins in San Diego.  And of course we made a trip to Disneyland, the most crowded place on earth, but still one of my favorite places ever.
These two were inseparable until Joaquin got pink eye and had high fevers for a few days straight.  Poor guy!  We felt so bad and were sad that they couldn't play anymore.
More cousin time!  Everyone was thrilled to be reunited again.
Bronson grilling some hotdogs and burgers.  Best BBQ ever!
Playing dress up in the play room.
Kelly's baby shower.  Cute little belly!!
The next night was Chelcie's baby shower.  It was SO fun to see her pregnant.  She was adorable, as expected!
I think this was the first time we took a picture with all of us girls together, with the little girls too.

On our way down to San Diego, we stopped in Mission Viejo to visit with Tatum and Whitney (Christian's sista).  It's always fun getting these two roly polies together, Tess and Bets.  We were excited to see baby Ever as well.  She's grown so much!
Betsy's going to hate that picture when she gets older.  But I'm a little obsessed with it.

Meeting up with the Clawson cousins in SD.  They were super cute together.

The last day we were there we went to Disneyland!
Tristan was very serious when he met some of the characters.  It was a big deal.
Poor Bets was running a little fever while we were there.  Love the teething stage.
I forced Chelcie to turn side ways so I could get her cute baby bump.  Love this girl and can't wait for baby Leo to come in August.
Post tree house adventure with Papa.
It was a hot hot day, with a ton of people.  We did get to wait in a few short lines like It's a Small World and Pirates, but everything else was pretty long.  It was still a super fun day.

Looking forward to coming back to CA in August!
